For Chautona’s release, we’re talking DIY.

I’m not a big DIYer. I mean, I’d love to be, but, let’s face it, you don’t want to turn me loose with power tools. Unless it’s for destruction purposes. I can tear down walls like there’s no tomorrow. But don’t ask me to drill a hole. One, it’ll never be where it should be. Two, it won’t be straight.

What I can do is paint and lay hardwood flooring. Who knew being a bit of a perfectionist is perfect for those jobs? Yeah, okay, it does make sense.

My husband, however, is great at DIY. He took a discarded pallet and turned it into a bookshelf for me. Best gift ever. Now I just need to convince him to make wall-to-wall bookcases because (ahem) book storage is never wasted.
