Special Wedding Gifts:

For Delicious Devotion Melissa asked us what was something special that we received for our wedding.

As usual, I’ve had to mull this question over for quite a while. I don’t remember many of the actual gifts we were given, so I’m taking the emotional route today.

My dad wore a tuxedo to my wedding. It’s the first (and according to him the last) time I’ve ever seen him dress up for an event. I told the photographer to be sure and get pictures, because I knew I’d want to look back and remember every moment for various reasons.

But even without the photographic proof, I remember the moment he walked into the church and grinned at me. He’d said for weeks that he was wearing his jeans and that was final. I didn’t argue. I didn’t care what he wore as long as he showed up.

The tux was a nice touch, though.
