Back to School Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to the inaugural Back to School Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt.

We hope that throughout this hunt, you discover some new books and get to know a little more about us.

A few things before you begin:

This hunt is a blog hop. Collect the “clues” (pieces to the longer phrase) at each stop. Enter the individual giveaways along the way, then click on the link to the next stop and repeat until you reach #28, where you will input the full phrase as your entry to the grand prize drawing.

The hunt begins August 30, 2023, at noon EST and ends September 4, 2023, so you have plenty of time to visit each stop. If you need to step away and come back later, make a note of the last stop you visited, and go to this post with the list of all stops on the hunt.

If you are having trouble viewing the posts, you may need to switch browsers. Chrome and Firefox sometimes work better than Microsoft Explorer or Edge.

Ready for some bookish fun?

I’m Tabitha Bouldin and I write contemporary Christian romance and fantasy. For this giveaway, we’ll be focusing on some of my favorite types of books, cowboy romance.

I love the close-knit community that comes with cowboys, small towns, and I’m especially partial to a second chance romance. When I first started reading, it was the close families and the happily ever afters that drew me in and kept me hooked.

I remember my aunt bringing me books by the garbage bag full because she knew how voracious a reader I was and I’d already devoured most of what was available in the library.

From there, my love of reading only grew. Many of you may remember the reading reward challenges that often happened in school, and sometimes in summer. Those were my favorite assignments. And when a teacher told us to read to ourselves in class, I was the happiest kid in class.

I do remember getting in trouble one time while reading. In seventh grade, we were supposed to read “Johnny Tremain”. The problem wasn’t with reading the book, it was with stopping. You see, we were only supposed to read one chapter a day. Talk about torture for a kid who was so invested in the story. When my teacher caught me reading ahead, she scolded me, then sent me to the library to find more books to read. And that’s when I discovered the intense joy of reading multiple books at the same time.

That teacher, Mrs. Clayton, is one of the reasons I love reading. She’s also an avid reader and one of my biggest cheerleaders. She has read every book I’ve written and never ceases to proclaim how proud she is that I took my love of reading to a new level.

It’s because of teachers like Mrs. Clayton that school was a blessing.

And now for a little about the book I’m giving away:

Trusting the Cowboy

In the charming small town of Redemption, Danny Solomon works to help heal wounded hearts. His lifelong dream is to help children overcome the pain of their past while drawing strength from his own tragic experiences to make a difference.

When Phoenix Nichols, a mysterious and hurting soul, seeks refuge at Danny’s equine therapy ranch—a rustic haven tucked away in the heart of the countryside—Danny is hesitant to embrace the wounded newcomer. Yet, he can’t ignore the profound sorrow radiating from Phoenix.

Beneath her vulnerable exterior, Phoenix harbors a dark secret. She’s seeking solace and safety amidst the tranquility of the ranch. But as Danny’s extraordinary ability to see into her past puts them at odds, the malevolence she was fleeing catches up to her, threatening her life.

In a race against time, Danny and Phoenix must learn to trust each other and confront the shadows that haunt them. As the bond between the small-town cowboy and the enigmatic stranger deepens, they discover a love more profound than they ever imagined—one that empowers them to face their fears together.
