Physician Assistant Lainie Jackson is eighteen months out from an attempted murder perpetrated by her ex, which ended when she managed to grab the weapon and shoot him. When he appears to have survived and is back to finish the job he started, Lainie insists it’s not possible. But someone keeps trying to kill her, and she keeps seeing his face.
Together, Lainie and James must work together to find out who, exactly, is after her and why he wants her dead. And failure is not an option.

Book Review:
Another excellent story with deep character development and a real, raw look at painful family dynamics that shaped each character. I loved the psychological tension that never let up. I’m obsessed with trying to figure out the who-dun-it and I was always left guessing on this one. The romance was a nice, slow build of friends to more and the conflict between them had nothing to do with fear of losing their friendship should a relationship develop. I loved that the author took another tactic at keeping the hero and heroine from falling for each other. The prologue hooked me and pulled me right into the heart of a gripping story of love and forgiveness.
