Unassailable

Unassailable by K.J. Rowe: Author Interview, Tour, and Giveaway with Celebrate Lit.

About the Book

Book: Unassailable

Author: K.J. Rowe

Genre: Teen/Young Adult

To be picture perfect on the outside can cause people to think you have it all together on the inside. Which is exactly the case for Hope Meyer.

Stuck in a dead-end job with no vision for her future, parents arguing at home and newly-single under terms she bitterly objects to, Hope puts on a brave front in the face of friends. Only, she’s not as subtle as she thinks. Called out on her pretense by a close friend and, drawn into a mission project that causes her to question everything she’s been led to believe, Hope finds herself floundering.

Until recently, the perfect hair, manicured nails, a wardrobe straight out of a fashion magazine and a handsome suitor by her side had defined her. Now seeing those things as insignificant, and understanding why her boyfriend left, Hope turns to her youth minister for help; with one burning question in mind:

Who was she?

Set on a path of self-discovery, Hope finds her day to day both unraveling and piecing together like a jigsaw as her perception begins to alter.

Will she embrace how God defines her and ultimately learn what true happiness is?

Author Interview:

What’s your favorite writing snack?

When writing I always have a bottle of water next to me with some fruit or nuts to nibble on.

Are you working on your next book already? What can you tell us?

Yes, I am. I am working on the next book in the Casts of Silver series which follows Nick in his story, titled Unshakeable. See how I go, but looking to release late in 2024.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

I like to practice music. Flute is the main instrument that I play, however I would like to play better Piano and Ukulele. I also like to spend time out in the garden – the weeds are never ending! It’s always so refreshing to sit back with a cup of tea in a freshly tended garden.

When did you write your first book? Is that first one published?

I was given a typewriter when I was in primary school, and I remember punching out what I would call my first book on it. Inspired by my love for horses and Elyne Mitchell’s The Silver Brumby, it was about a horse in the high country befriending a young girl from town. While I remember writing that little story, I have no idea where it went, so definitely not published.

Do you write in one genre or several?

While I feel impressed to write into the Teen / Young Adult genre for Casts of Silver, I am on the side, drafting another series that will follow the Casts of Silver series which will be more for the Young Adult genre. Plus, I have been drafting a children’s book idea. Will see what happens after the Casts of Silver series is completed, which way
the good Lord takes me. 😀

About the Author

Since I could hold a pencil, I’ve be writing.

In primary school, I wrote stories about my pets, my own version of princess stories, a classroom crush…

In high school, I wrote stories about horses, adventures, my sister…

However, as strong as the writing hobby was, I still pursued a career in Veterinary Nursing.

It wasn’t until God intervened and moved me out of the city and into a small country town to be a farmer’s wife, that he resurfaced the writing desire – and gave me the stories. So was born my debut series, each book holding a part of my own testimony, Casts of Silver.

It is my prayer that you enjoy the journey these stories take you on, and that they challenge, encourage and inspire you.
