Can they foil The Escape?

The Escape by Lisa Harris: Book Review with Revell Reads

About the book:

Title: The Escape

Author: Lisa Harris

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Release Date: November 3, 2020

US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn are thrust into a high-profile case when they are called on to transport two prisoners across the country on a private plane. But when the plane experiences engine trouble en route from the Pacific Northwest to Colorado, the pilots crash-land the aircraft deep in the heart of the sprawling Salmon-Challis National Forest.

When Madison and Jonas regain consciousness, they find both pilots and one prisoner dead–and one fugitive on the run. They’ll have to negotiate the rugged and remote backcountry through Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado while tracking a murderer who is desperate to disappear–and will do anything to stop them.

This high-octane game of cat-and-mouse from bestselling and award-winning author Lisa Harris will have your heart pumping as you try to catch a fugitive with nothing to lose.

Book Review:

I have to say, this is probably my favorite Lisa Harris book. She always brings the tension and suspense, but The Escape really pushed to a higher level.

I loved Madison and Jonas. The relationship that developed slowly and with a gentleness as you learn each character’s backstory and the things they’re trying to overcome was on point. The suspense ramped up the story, pushing the envelope and showing just how intense these moments can be and how dedicated the men and women of the US Marshals are.

The spiritual factor was there, not a forceful presence, but the softer, subtler relationship showed through actions and occasional prayer.

I particularly loved the opening chapters, the chase scene in the forest, in particular, but the entire novel is incredible. And the ending! Gah! Got me right in the feels.
