Back Cover Blurb for Taming Julia

In 1875, Kansas bachelor Drew Montgomery’s sole desire is to serve God, but his congregation’s ultimatum that he marry or leave, forces him to advertise for a wife by proxy.

Interview

What is the inspiration behind your writing?

My inspiration is two-folded. First and foremost is the Lord. My other inspiration is my husband. He’s my hero.

Do you have a favorite author or book?

Sorry, I can’t narrow it down to just one. My top authors are Karen Witemeyer, Jen Turano, Mary Connealy, and Regina Jennings. I can’t pick a favorite book though other than the Bible.

What book are you currently reading for fun and are you reading anything for research?

I’m currently reading Regina Jennings, The Major’s Daughter. I’m especially enjoying it since my book, To Claim Her Heart is also about the land races in Oklahoma during the 19th Century. For research purposes, I’m reading Carol Alwood’s Focused Backstory.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

When I’m not writing, chances are you’ll find me either reading or knitting while hanging out with my best friend, my dear husband. 🙂

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

With Taming Julia, I would have to say tenacity. I actually wrote this story well over eight years ago. It’s taken a long time to see it in print, but I felt it was a story that needed telling, so I kept plugging along until I finally had a ‘yes’ from a publisher.

How many books have you written? Which is your favourite?

Taming Julia is my seventh book. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but this one is the one I had the most fun writing, and it only took about two months to do so.

As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

I’ve wanted to be a writer ever since I was a little girl and wrote my first poem in second grade.
