Dark Ambitions by Irene Hannon: Book Review with Revell Reads
Book Review:
Heather and Rick created one of my favorite fictional relationships this year. The immediate attraction, and their acceptance of it, made Dark Ambitions read with a smooth transition of character growth.
Since both main characters have some heaviness in their past, I was curious how much their past would affect their decisions and their choices. Irene Hannon offered both a chance to let their past hold them back, and Heather’s and Rick’s choices showed how well adjusted they are to their situations. They still have some work to do, but they’re not incapacitated by past mistakes or trauma.
Suspense wise, Dark Ambitions moved at a slower than what I anticipated, but I found I didn’t mind. Instead of Heather and Rick running for their lives through the entire novel, they have a chunk of time where they’re simply working together and developing a relationship that has the chance to withstand the test of time
Spiritually, very few mentions of God, but they do show up in a natural manner that never seems forced.
I requested a copy of this book from Revell Reads. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
With her trademark psychological suspense ratcheting up the tension on every page, bestselling and award-winning author Irene Hannon takes you on a search for a cold-blooded killer with an ambitious goal and deadly intent.
This book sounds like a very good read and a good page turner, thank you for sharing your book review.
