On this Romantic Thursday morning, I bring you romance author Alexis Goring. And she has the perfect novel for Valentine’s Day: Love in Pictures. Alexis has several books available, but since today is supposed to be the most romantic day of the year…well, Love in Pictures just seemed perfect.
Look at this cover!!! In typical southern-belle fashion, I say, “Swoon-worthy!” You can find purchase information at the end of the interview. With that said, here’s Alexis.
Q1: Can you describe one thing about writing that you find the most appealing?
Answer: I love character creation! Imagining their names, personality, quirks, hopes and dreams are most appealing.
Q2: Do you have a favorite character that you have written?
Answer: Yes! I have more than one but I’d say Michelle from Love in Pictures because her passion and personality are very much like mine.
Q3: What’s next for you as an author?
Answer: I’m working on a story about a formerly fat pastry chef who is now one fine, fit, and handsome catch! But he cannot settle down with any of the women who throw themselves at him because his heart is set on the one woman who he loved from day one. What he does not know is that she now works as a food writer at a magazine office that’s located near his bakery!
Q4: What started your journey as an author?
Answer: An impromptu storytelling game created by my Grandpa while he and my Grandma were babysitting my brother and I when we were kids. I liked my story so much that I spent that entire summer typing it out on our family computer then I printed it out and illustrated it before binding it like a book with staples. I called it “Sisters.” After reading it to my Mom’s best friend who briefly visited with us one day that summer, I do not remember what happened to it. But I do know that it was the story that sparked my interest in wanting to become a writer when I grew up. Since then, I’ve spent most of my free time writing!
Q5: Do you have any interesting writing quirks?
Answer: No. I don’t think so!
Closing note from Tabitha: Thank you for participating on the blog. I look forward to reading your answers.
Closing response from Alexis: You’re welcome! Thanks for inviting me to be your guest.
