Welcome Molly Jebber and her new release: Ellie’s Redemption plus a Giveaway

Today we have Molly Jebber here with us to discuss her upcoming release, Ellie’s Redemption. I had to drop in and say how much this cover suits the book. It tells a story all by itself and makes you want to dive straight into the bakery. And now, I’ll leave you with Molly.

My favorite thing about writing is interacting with readers at speaking events, on Facebook, and other social media outlets. It’s like I’ve had tea with you after I’ll we’ve shared interests in live chats and daily posts!

I love writing Amish stories and showing they encounter some of the same problems we do. Okay, I admit, I do add a tad of mystery and some unusual surprises! Ellie might be my favorite character out of all my books. She’s a rebellious young woman who brings a boatload of trouble to Charm in Liza’s Second Chance (the first book in my Amish Charm Bakery Series). She’s curious about the outside world, and she makes good friends. She doesn’t abandon her faith in God, and she faces turmoil and hard decisions.

In the second book, “Ellie’s Redemption”, she’s remorseful for her past actions. She asks for forgiveness from God, the church, and her loved ones. Amish men aren’t lining up to court her. She suspects her reputation is the reason. Joel, a newcomer, sweeps her off her feet. She’s thrilled, until secrets are revealed and their future is threatened. In this book, she faces new challenges, consequences, and joys.

The bakery is a fun place for a setting. The aromas of fresh bread, cinnamon, maple sugar, fruits, and recipes make my mouth water as I write about them. I may have put on a few pounds as well! And the ideas for customers popped in my mind faster than my fingers could pound on the keyboard!  Especially the gossips! Then there’s the town sheriff and Dr. Harrison who meet at the bakery for coffee and share the latest news each morning from 1913 (time period of the story) and what they’ve been up to. I have a good time having these two friends tease each other, give advice, and argue! They are sure to make you laugh.

Charm, Ohio is a quaint and friendly Amish community I visited. I couldn’t wait to have as a setting in my stories. The Amish talked to my husband, Ed, and I, and I learned so much from them. The corn pudding and the butterscotch pie at the family restaurant was the best!  I bought a beautiful Amish bonnet with perfect tucked pleats and black hat in a shop with dry goods to set on my speaking table at events. The quilt shop had amazing quilt patterns. I like the buggies and wagons, farm tours, and goodies! The trunk is rather full with Amish dolls and giveaway goodies when I leave to offer you for chances to win through the year. If you have a chance, visit Charm, Berlin, Sugarcreek, and Mt. Hope in Ohio. You’ll enjoy it!

And here is the blurb:

The comforting aroma of fresh baked-and-buttered bread. The hearty spice of cinnamon-oatmeal bars and hot coffee. In 1912 Ohio, The Amish Charm Bakery is the sweet sustaining center of a faith-abiding town built on peace, forgiveness—and ever-surprising love . . .

Ellie Graber couldn’t be happier working at Amish Charm—and making good on a precious chance to reunite with her Amish community. Grief over her mother’s death made her rebel and try the Englischerworld, but now she’s home to start again. And quiet, thoughtful Joel Wenger is one of the few willing to understand her as their unexpected friendship develops into something much more . . .

But no matter how hard Ellie tries, Joel’s mother resolutely refuses to approve of her—much less accept her as a potential daughter-in-law. And as painful misunderstandings and a beautiful rival for Joel’s affections threaten to separate the couple for good, can they bridge the gap between distrust and faith to secure a lifetime of love?

  1. I loved reading this! The pictures are wonderful! This cover is so enchanting, and I am sure the story will be, too. Don’t you just want to eat one of those pastries on the cover?! Molly writes such sweet books, that I hate to put down, and then wish they would never end! Some day I would love to visit these Amish towns in Ohio!

  2. Love Molly’s books and I can’t wait for the opportunity to read “Ellie’s Redemption”.
Fortunate to have a husband that loves to be in the kitchen as much as I am. It makes baking a joy to share it with the one you love and then share the bounty of the oven with those you love as well. One of the baked items we love to make and share is our cinnamon rolls. We have taken an old recipe of my Mom’s and added a few items from a recipe that hubby used way before we were married to come up with these little globes of heavenly deliciousness. They end up really being a cross between a sticky bun and a cinnamon roll. There is a layer of pecan gooey in the bottom of the pan. Followed by a cinnamon roll that has loads of goodies rolled inside like pecans, raisins and cinnamon/brown sugar mixture. As they come out of the oven they get a sugary glaze just because they might not have enough calories in them with all the sugar and butter. The recipe makes 2 pans of 15 but for some reason there usually aren’t any that go stale. Once folks know we are making then we start getting calls to save them one. There must be a cinnamon roll radar because folks show up just as they are coming out of the oven. 🙂
Thank you for the chance to win a copy of “Ellie’s Redemption”!
