Book Review and Interview with Marlie Love

Today’s book review and interview is brought to you by (don’t tell me you didn’t just read that in the Sesame Street voice). Let’s try again. Today’s book is Five steps to Finding Your Purpose and Destiny, by Marlie Love. It was my great pleasure to interview Mrs. Love earlier this week after reading her book. Here’s how things went. I am going to write out our conversation and not just the questions/answers because it was a powerful moment and it deserves recognition.

OK, first off, WOW!! You gave me goosebumps. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have experienced your book.

Really???? Oh my gosh, thank you so much!!! I’m so happy you enjoyed it!

It’s phenomenal. It was like you were in my brain. I’m sure that’s the way it feels for a lot of people. There are so many who struggle with fear, self-doubt, everything you mentioned. So, here’s our first question. What brought you to the realization, or the desire, to write your book?

What brought me to the realization or the desire to write a book was interesting. At first, I really wanted to get my message out there more as a life coach. However, as I started digging deeper into the process and the story of my life, I realized that God really put this desire in me. It allowed me to go back and really see how he worked in my life to help me step into my purpose. When I began to think back and see what I did to get to where I was, I was shocked because it was all so clear and distinct how God led me to it. So, the initial desire was to get my message out there, but true desire was a gift from God.

What would you consider to be your biggest obstacle during writing?

My biggest obstacle while writing was keeping my mind positive. You know the enemy loves to mess with our thoughts. I would think that no one would want to read this book or it wasn’t going to be good enough or (the biggest negative thought) I wasn’t even a writer. What really helped me was playing Christian music while writing. I LOVE Eddie James’ music. I would blast his songs and continue to keep going, no matter what.

If you could visit any era of the past, from creation until now, where and when would you journey to?

I love this question and I do think about it a lot. I really would like to be able to journey to the time that Jesus was on the Earth. I would love to be able to just walk with Him on Earth. I pray that I would be on the right side of history if I was living in that time and believe that he is the Messiah.

Other than God-since of course, He must come first-who has been the biggest influence/motivator in your life?

I would say one of the biggest influences in my life is actually my mother-in-law. She has overcome so much in her life and she is SO vocal about her love of God. I’ve seen that, and it’s helped me step into my purpose in life. She was on her death bed and she always kept the faith and in turn, God is always with her. It’s amazing. so, watching her and seeing the love of God through her, has really influenced mt to follow my dreams.

What’s next for you, both as a life coach and as an author?

What’s next for me is to continue coaching, keep writing, and develop more prophetically. I love God so much and just want to do what He wants me to do. If there are other authors that want to write a book and aren’t sure how to get started, I am starting a new coaching program! I will help authors get their book written within 3 months! If anyone is interested, they can email me at

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey. I wish you all the best in your journey.

Thank you so much for interviewing me!

Is there anything you would like me to add to the post? Any specific words of encouragement for the readers?

I want people to know that they can do anything through Christ. If I can do it, they can do it! If they need help with any problems, have them reach out to me or check my website for resources at

And now, my review of her book. I’ll keep this short and sweet. I loved this book. It’s a quick read, only 34 pages, however, the 5 steps will keep you busy for days. The best part is, you can keep coming back to them anytime you need a reminder, or encouragement. Five steps to Finding Your Purpose and Destiny came to me at the perfect moment. I didn’t even realize how badly I needed the words on those pages until I started reading, and then I couldn’t stop. I have not gone through the actual process of the 5 steps yet, but I fully intend to. Marlie’s book is not just for authors. Anyone struggling to find their place in life could find help and encouragement.

That’s all for now. God bless and never give up on your dreams. Find your purpose and embrace it.
